To search for court records from the Superior Court, use the court records management system website run by the Cobb County Clerk of Superior Court.
To search Cobb County State Court cases, you must use the online CourtConnect system. Below is a detailed guide to the system, published by Cobb County. This website, provided by the Clerk’s office of Cobb County, includes the following cases filed in the State Court of Cobb County:
- Civil cases filed from 3/17/97 through the current year
- Traffic and Misdemeanor cases filed from 4/26/99 through the current year
While case information in Cobb County won’t be available immediately, the County does a good job of updating the database daily. Data provided on CourtConnect website is refreshed nightly. If your case were to be updated today, the case management system updates will be available the next day.
Three search screens are available, depending on the information known and sought.
Cobb County State Court Case Number Search
If the case number is known – Select Display Case Information and Activities option, the third link on the Search Homepage.
From the Main Menu select Display Case Information and Activities Once on the Docket Report screen, enter your case number in the Case ID field following the format example; there should be two hyphens, one on either side of the alpha character(s) Press the Submit button or the Enter key to view results.
Helpful Hints on a Case Number Search…
- For complete results, it is recommended that you leave the Docket Filing Start Date and Docket Filing Ending Date fields blank, and enter only the Case Id Navigate within the results by scrolling or selecting a link at the bottom of the Docket Report Results page
- Dockets are sorted by file date, oldest at the top Associated attorneys and the parties they represent are displayed by the sequence number that is displayed in the ASSOC column for the party record, compared against the sequence number in the SEQ# column A date in the EXPN DATE field for a party, indicates that party is no longer an active case party Only open/pending events (court dates and case actions) display Addresses for Parties: The addresses displayed may be the address associated to the party at the time the case was filed, or may reflect a more current address stored in the case management system Outstanding fine amounts are not available in CourtConnect
Cobb County State Court Search by Person Name or Business Name
If the case number is unknown – Select Search by Person Name, Business name or Case Type option, the first link on the Search Homepage
- From the Main Menu select Search by Person Name, Business Name or Case Type
- To perform a Basic Name search for a case
- On the Person/Case Type Search screen, select the Check for Partial Last Name box
- Enter the person’s last name or company name (required)
- Enter the person’s first name
- Enter the person’s middle name (or a portion)
- Press the Submit button or Enter key to view results
- To perform a Person Name search with a Date of Birth
- On the Person/Case Type Search screen, leave the first two checkboxes unchecked
- Enter the exact spelling of the person’s last name (required)
- Enter the exact spelling of the person’s first name (required)
- Enter the exact date of birth in the specified format (DD-MON-YYYY)
- Press the Submit button or Enter key to view results
The search results are displayed on the Person/Case Type Search Results page
- To navigate to other pages of results, click on the page links at the bottom
- To view the case details for a specific case, select the case id link which will open the Docket Report Results

Cobb County State Court Judgment Search
If only cases in which a judgment has been entered against a person or business are sought. Select Search for Judgments Against a Person or Business option, the second link on Search Homepage.
- From the Main Menu select Search for Judgment Against A Person or Business
- Once on the Judgment Search screen, select the Check for Partial Last Name box
- Enter the person’s last name or company name (required)
- Enter the person’s first name
- Enter the person’s middle name (or a portion)
- For accurate results, the ALL option should be selected in the Judgment Status field
- Press the Submit button or Enter key to view results
The search results are displayed on the Judgment Search Results page
- To navigate to other pages of results, click on the page links at the bottom
- To view the case details for a specific case, select the case id link which will open the Docket Report Results
To view judgment information, after selecting the case id link, from the Docket Report Results page, scroll to or select the Docket Entries link at the bottom of the Docket Report Results page
- If a Writ of Fieri Facias was issued, the judgment amounts will be associated with the docket entry FiFa Issued
- To return to the results page, click on the back arrow
Helpful Hints on a Judgment Search
- For best results, on basic name searches check the Check for Partial Last Name box
- Phonetic Search option and Partial Last Name option cannot be used on the same search
- Searching by first and last name, without a middle name or initial, will return results with and without a middle initial/name
- Enter a suffix (Jr, Sr, III) in the Last Name or Company Name field after the last name
- The Page Navigator (the page number links at the bottom of the results page) may not display all pages. A maximum of 5 pages before and 5 pages after the current page you are on will be available, as well as the First or Last page links
- Closing CourtConnect or Arrowing back to the search page while waiting on search results will not cancel the query behind the scenes, and may impact further searches Only open/pending events (court dates and case actions) display

- Judgment Status must have the ALL option selected for accurate results
- Judgment amounts are available only if a Writ of Fieri Facias was issued on the judgment. Cobb County State Court Docket
The Cobb County State Court docket shows when hearings or appearances are scheduled. These include personal property foreclosures, eviction proceedings, garnishments, domestic violence hearings, and civil lawsuits. The daily court calendar is available online.

State Court of Cobb County
The State Court of Cobb County one part of the Cobb County court system. While the Superior Court generally handles civil and criminal matters like divorce, real estate, and felony criminal actions, it shares jurisdiction with the State Court over other cases.
The State Court hears civil disputes, misdemeanor cases, and traffic violations. The Probate Court deals with wills and estates, guardianship, and involuntary commitment, etc. Juvenile Court deals with charges against people under the age of 18, while the Magistrate Court conducts marriages, handles small claims cases, and issues arrest warrants. Cobb County State Court Clerk
The Cobb County State Court Clerk maintains records and collects court costs, fines, and fees. The Clerk’s office files, processes, and schedules cases for trial.
The Accounting Division is responsible for collecting traffic and misdemeanor fines ordered by the Court, as well as restitution. It is also responsible for paying out funds collected by the court, such as garnishment and restitution funds, or refunding cash bonds.
Misdemeanor fines and traffic citations can be paid through the mail or online. The Accounting Division can be reached at (770) 528-1271, and mailed payments should be sent to 12 East Park Square, Marietta, GA 30090. Include the defendant’s name, case or citation number, and court date when paying.
